s w i f t s

A literary journal where each issue contains just a few small pieces to be read in their entirety. Like our namesake, the journal prioritizes pieces that are adept in multiple ways at the same time: speed and strength, quick movements and longevity of flight, drag and thrust.

Published simultaneously online and in a limited edition hand-made format, s w i f t s maintains first serial rights and reserves the right to republish work in the future whether online or in print, such as on social media or in a potential print anthology. All other rights revert to the author upon publication, but we request the author acknowledge first publication in s w i f t s

If you are interested in submitting your work, please email up to 5 pieces (regardless of genre) with a third-person bio to: accumulatequiet@gmail.com with “swifts submission” in the subject line. If sending translations, please also send the piece in the original language and proof/explanation that you have the rights to translate the work.

accumulate/quiet: a pamphlet series

Our pamphlet series features writers, scholars, editors, translators, arts organizers, and more on how they understand or question their experiences of process, change, learning, growth or more in regards to their work. The name of the series comes from understanding that accumulation and quiet are two interweaving actions that at times seem like opposites but that each artistic project typically requires.

As with s w i f t s, the pamphlet series is published simultaneously online and in a limited edition hand-made format, maintains first serial rights, and reserves the right to republish work in the future whether online or in print, such as on social media or in a potential print anthology. All other rights revert to the author upon publication, but we request the author acknowledge first publication in accumulate/quiet: a pamphlet series.

Some possibilities for format within the series include: mutual interviews, founding narratives, personal or craft essays, or more.

If you are interested in being part of this series, please email a pitch to: accumulatequiet@gmail.com with “pamphlet pitch” in the subject line.
